We use many creative methods for the teaching of government and politics, including lively debates and discussions. Students taking this course will also make extensive use of internet searches in our IT suites. You will study some of the following topics over two years: - People and politics: Democracy and political participations, party policies and ideas, elections and pressure groups - Governing the UK: The British constitution, parliament, Prime Minister and cabinet, judges and civil liberties- UK political issues: Economic policy, social welfare, health and education and environmental policy- EU political issues: Impact of the EU on the UK, integration, EU institutions and their relationships and domestic policy- Government and politics of the USA: President and Congress, political parties, elections and pressure groups
