Applied Science - A Level

Due to popular demand we are delighted to offer this BTEC equivalent at A Level. This subject complements a range of other A Levels for students to enjoy learning science in a highly practical coursework-based pathway. This is excellent preparation for a wide variety of higher education courses and career routes. This course is exceptionally useful for students who would like to follow a humanities or arts based A Level programme that includes an element of science, and is also for students t enhance their Biology, Chemistry or Physics A Levels with more practical learning. You will study three units each year. The first year will include three mandatory units covering the fundamental aspects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, a range of scientific practicals and learning about the science industry. In the second year, three further units from a selection of Biology, Chemistry or Physics units will be taken as determined by a student led decision. These highly varied units include Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Analysis, Astronomy, Electrical Circuits, Medical Physics and Environmental Science.
