This course will provide a realistic introduction to working in any of the public services. You will find the course stimulating and varied as it combines classroom-based study with outdoor activity and group work. You will also develop your personal effectiveness, decision making, teamwork, leadership and communication skills. You will cover a range of topics such as: Leadership Team development Physical preparation and fitness outdoor and adventurous activities Diversity Public services employment At advanced level you will study more specialist units such as: Management of major incidents Custodial care of individuals Government policies The legal system Communication and technology You will also learn employability skills.
