Bridge for Beginners

This Bridge course at Peter Symonds Adult and Higher Education Division (AHED), Stoney Lane in Weeke, is suitable for complete beginners or any players who would like to do a complete refresher and consolidate the basics of bidding and play. You will learn how to assess the value of the cards, how to communicate with your partner during the bidding phase (deciding how many tricks you hope to make) and then how to play the cards to make the required number of tricks. The course also covers standard bidding for the most common hands, learning about scoring and will get you ready to play in the real world with friends at home or at a no-fear bridge club. If you would like to learn something new, have fun, exercise your brain and meet people to enjoy a new hobby with, then come and join a Bridge course at Peter Symonds Adult Education. The year begins in September for the complete beginner or players who would like a complete refresher and to consolidate the basics of bidding and play. This could be a year-long course (split into 3 terms). If you have experience and wish to join the course after it has started, please speak to the tutor Cathy Wallis on 07881814568 to discuss your level of experience, to see if the course is appropriate for you. Pen, notebook/folder. There will be handouts, but when a student joins the course they will also need to purchase the Course Notes from the tutor.
