This is an ideal course for those that want to extend their mathematics and apply it to solve real world problems. There is less of a focus on algebra for its own sake although inevitably there are equations to solve and graphs to analyse. The qualification comprises three modules; core maths, statistics and decision maths. Lessons are in a room equipped with PCs. We make frequent use of various websites and graph plotting software and the graphical calculator, which is a requirement for the course. All modules are examined in the summer, two of which are advanced Free Standing Maths Qualifications.
