Why choose BTEC L3 Extended Certificate in Business? The BTEC Level 3 in Business at Carmel College gives every learner the opportunity to develop a real understanding of what is involved, both theoretically and practically, in becoming an effective business professional. We try to give you a greater involvement with businesses, so more trips to businesses, more research of real businesses, a work placement in the second year and a greater development of the personal skills you will need to succeed in the business world. You have the opportunity to study the course as a single qualification which is the equivalent to 1 A Level (Extended Certificate) or as a double award qualification which is the equivalent to 2 A Levels (Diploma). What will I study? Depending upon the route you choose, you will complete either 4 units on the BTEC Extended Certificate or 8 units on the BTEC Diploma over the course of two years, providing you with the equivalent to 1 or 2 A Levels. There are a certain number of mandatory units, whilst the optional units are chosen to provide you with the best opportunity to achieve at your highest level. You will cover topics such as marketing, personal and business finance, event management, international business and principles of management.
