Learners will expand, and improve upon, their previously acquired existing linguistic skills, enabling them to communicate in everyday situations. Topics covered include Talking About Yourself and Others, Family, Jobs, Ordering Food and Drink in Restaurants, Giving Compliments and Making Complaints (all contexts), Dealing with Emergencies, Talking About the Weather, Further Shopping, Medical Issues and Parts of the Body, Travelling by Car, Planning Holidays and Events, Tourist Information. Additional vocabulary and grammar structures will be introduced, eg use of tenses, adjective endings, pronouns, together with an awareness of the culture, traditions and geographical regions of the country. The emphasis of the course will be on acquiring speaking and listening skills, and on learner participation. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with the language skills required to communicate with a native speaker, with confidence.
