This workshop is suitable for learners who would like to pursue a career in working with children. You will find out what working with children is about and the training options available. The workshop will cover the following: Information about working with children - what skills you need to progress in this career route 7 what attitudes and behaviours employers are looking for Information about our Children and Young People / Early Years Practitioner and Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS) courses Information about Traineeships or Apprenticeships we offer Assess your own skills and character to see if working with children is the right career for you Knowledge of where our courses can take you (for instance further training in teaching or social work) Progression routes from L1 - L3 (for instance studying at foundation and degree level) Explore volunteering and the local job market in this area Carry out an initial assessment which will be passed on to the working with children tutor or apprenticeship team Possible referral to traineeship coordinator Functional skills (maths and English) initial assessment
