Do you work in Health & Social Care, want to work in Health & Social Care, or have an unpaid caring responsibility for someone with a physical disability? In all these cases it is vital you know how to safely and correctly move and handle the person you are caring for, and the equipment needed, to ensure their dignity. This course covers everything from the anatomy of the spine and types of injuries that can occur from unsafe practice; responsibilities; risk assessments; person centred plans; moving and handling people and equipment in line with current legislation as well as other essential information. You need to be 18 years old or over and physically fit to undertake this practically based course. Please wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Upon completion you will receive a Shipley College Certificate. Please note you will still need training on how to use your equipment safely.
