Do you work with individuals who have dementia as part of your day-to-day work or do you want to learn more about how to support and care for individuals who have dementia? If so, this is the course for you and it can also help improve your employment prospects. You cover areas such as person-centred care, the influence of positive communication methods, issues around the use of medication for those with dementia and the importance of offering appropriate activities. You must be 18 or over to enrol. This course is delivered via distance learning and will take 21 weeks to complete. You need to have a good level of English and will undertake an assessment to confirm your place. Students undertaking distance learning courses must be motivated to meet deadlines and be able to produce detailed quality work without supervision. Please note that although the majority of this course is delivered via distance learning, you will be expected to attend College on a Tuesday afternoon on alternate weeks, this will support you to achieve your qualification within your planned timescales.
