F525 - This course provides an introduction to the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to work in the music industry. Although a wide range of music is explored, there is particular emphasis on popular music (rock, pop, R & B, dance/techno etc). You will also learn performance and rehearsal techniques in preparation for at least 5 performances during the course. The course is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of Music. Assignments on the course vary in timescale and type depending on the nature of the project. The Level 3 Diploma in MusicPractice is a 9 unit qualification (achieved in year one only). Previous L3 Diploma students have gone on to study HE at various Universities. The most popular is BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology based at High Melton. Opportunities exist to enter the Creative Industries at a Junior Level but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including studio engineer, producer and live sound engineer.
