AS Level Psychology

UPDATED 20160802 15:06:38

There are two qualifications available: AS level stand-alone qualification, completed in one year A level qualification, completed over two years. Please Note: Psychology runs both one year courses at AS level and two year courses at A2 level. These are separate courses and transfer from one to the other is not possible at the end of your first year of study. Students study introductory topics and psychology in context at AS level to gain a foundation in psychology. At A-Level students study introductory topics, psychology in context and issues and debates in psychology alongside a range of options such as relationships, schizophrenia and forensic psychology. Common to both qualifications is the opportunity for students to develop: - an understanding of the main perspectives in psychology; - an ability to critically analyse psychological research/theories - an ability to use scientific research methods through the design, implementation and analysis of their own research.
