If English isn’t your main language, you can do a course to help you improve your English. These courses are called ESOL or English for Speakers of other Languages. ESOL courses cover: Speaking and listening; reading and writing; vocabulary; punctuation and grammar. There are courses at different levels so you’ll be able to start at the right level for you. The course is designed to provide you with an intensive ESOL and maths qualification. In addition you can try a range of different courses to help you decide on future study and career choices which may include: Art and Design, Business Administration and Retail, Construction, Hair and Beauty, Horticulture and Animal Care, Hospitality and Catering or Sport and Recreation. Following successful completion of this course you can go onto to further study within College. Enrichment: In addition the Barnsley College Enrichment programme offers you the opportunity to extend your education and personal growth beyond your academic courses. We aim to provide a varied range of workshops and activities, giving you the opportunity to develop new interests, improve knowledge and boost self-confidence. All of this will enhance your time in college and give you great experiences for the future. Enrichment workshops on offer take place throughout the week and cover a range of core themes: Equality and Diversity Safeguarding Environment Health and Wellbeing Finance Progression
