This qualification aims to educate you to make informed decisions which will facilitate your progression, primarily but not exclusively to appropriate higher education in art, design and media. We build on your prior experience, linking skills already acquired, with ideas and challenges which will extend your critical independence, and provide you with a full understanding of the career opportunities in art, design and the media sector. This course explores a wide range of art and design activities including media experimentation and research. You will carry out a major project which contains a blend of practical and academic study. You will specialise in one of the following areas: •Fine art •Graphic design •3D design •Fashion/Textiles Employment – This course can form the foundations for a range of creative occupations including Graphic Designer, Artist, Entrepreneur, Fashion Designer, Interior Design, Product Design and other related roles. Education – You could progress onto university, studying a variety of art, design, fashion and crafts disciplines or other higher level qualifications such as a Higher National Diploma (HND). Barnsley College has a range of sports opportunities for all students to take part in, gain professional training and compete nationally and internationally. We also have a state-of-the-art fitness village, Honeywell Sports Village where students can make use of our fitness suite, spinning studio and classes for competitive rates. You don’t have to be studying sport to get involved in the Sports Academy.This course may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. Name: ART & DESIGN UAL L3 FOUNDATION DIPLOMA Qualification title: Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Your work will be assessed throughout the course, both internally and by an external moderator. At the end of each studio module you will present a folder of work for discussion and grading. The final major project is exhibited as part of the Arts Festival in June/July which is open to the public. In order to gain a full Extended Diploma, you must pass all the course units.
