The course will start again from September 2016 You will study for one and a half hours per week per subject, day or evening. The length of the course will depend on the level you start at.These programmes are flexible. If you want to improve your reading, writing and numeracy skills, or want to gain a qualification for the skills you already have, a Skills for Life qualification could be for you. Functional Skills qualifications are designed to help you develop the skills you use in everyday life.Functional Skills courses cover practical maths skills including calculating with whole number, fractions and percentages, ratios and scale, measuring shape and space, as well as using statistics and presenting data.On completion of these programmes, you may wish to progress to other College programmes in either this area or another area of study.You will achieve Functional Skills maths qualification. Barnsley College has a range of sports opportunities for all students to take part in, gain professional training and compete nationally and internationally. We also have a state-of-the-art fitness village, Honeywell Sports Village where students can make use of our fitness suite, spinning studio and classes for competitive rates. You don’t have to be studying sport to get involved in the Sports Academy.
