Engineers can be involved in a range of different disciplines including the designing, installing, repairing or servicing of plant machinery and components; the design, repair and maintenance of electronic systems and investigating the behaviour of materials under different conditions to support advances in technology such as testing carbon fibre reinforced plastics to make stronger, lighter sports equipment, or developing special polymers, ceramics and alloys for use in medical implants.
You will have appropriate qualifications at Level 3 - either a Diploma in Engineering or Maths/Science at A Level. There is a formal interview procedure which you attend where a member of the team will have the opportunity to ascertain your qualifications and suitability. You of course will also have the opportunity to see whether this course of study is right for you and exactly what it entails. Part of the process is for you to be given a maths assessment, not as daunting as it sounds, because we ask you to take it away to complete, When you are ready you then make an appointment to review your answers, this gives both you and us the opportunity to see what level you are at and make a judgement on course suitability.
