<p>Course shortcode: PSY02 A Level Psychology opens doors to many varied and exciting careers, including criminal and forensic psychology, child protection and social work, educational psychology and teaching, occupational psychology and human resources, marketing and management, health psychology and nursing, mental health, youth work and counselling, sport psychology and coaching, psychological and government research, youth offending services and clinical psychology. During the first year you will investigate eyewitness testimony and memory; how obedience and prejudice can lead to genocide; conditioning behaviour and therapies; brain development and gender differences; and the role of the unconscious and psychoanalysis. While in second year, you will understand criminal profiling, causes of criminality, and controlling aggression; clinical disorders, their causes and treatments; the effects of deprivation and privation on children and child therapies; and major issues and debates in psychology. You will learn and develop through a range of activities, such as watching videos/DVDs, participating in games, quizzes, debates and discussions, giving presentations, conducting independent research, group work and experiments.</p><p>B in maths required and B in biology or BB in Double award Science (This must be Core and additional not core/applied)</p>
