Course shortcode: PHY01 A Level Physics is a fascinating subject that not only teaches you to develop your critical thinking, mathematical and problem solving skills, but also explains many different phenomena in the world and beyond, such as dark energy, why the sky is blue and why the world goes round. Often, the areas of employment that require physics are considered recession-proof, from acoustics to water management. Engineering is also a common and rewarding career path, with almost a third of all physics graduates who go into the private sector going on to take engineering jobs. Core subjects you will study in first year include measurements and their errors; particles and radiation; waves; mechanics and materials; and electricity. While in second year you will study further mechanics and thermal physics; fields and their consequences; and nuclear physics, alongside optional topics of astrophysics, medical physics, engineering physics, turning points in physics and electronics.

B in Maths and B grade in Physics OR BB in Double Award Science required (This must be Core and Additional not core/applied and a B must be in Physics)
