Migrations through the ages: has migration really changed from the 19th century to the 21st century?

Migration as presented on the news is but a small part of this complex topic. Explore the history and politics of modern migrations from the 19th century of empires to the changing world in the 20th century (America's First Great Migration, impact of WWI and WWII partition of India) to contemporary migration trends and issues today. NOTE: this course will incorporate the option of individual study/research outside of class.
