<p><strong>You will study the following topics:</strong></p> <p>- Using counselling skills ethically and safely</p> <p>- Establishing and sustaining the boundaries of the helping role</p> <p>- Working empathically as a helper</p> <p>- Focusing on the helpee's needs and concerns</p> <p>- Using self-awareness in helping work</p> <p>- Applying a range of counselling skills to facilitate the helping interaction</p> <p>- Using feedback and reflection to enhance counselling skills</p> <p> </p> <p>Please note that learners attending Counselling courses are required to be in college for five hours a week. Classes run once a week from 3.45pm to 9pm and at interview you will be asked to confirm that you can meet this commitment.</p>
