This apprenticeship is designed for applicants who are in paid employment within Optical Retail, to achieve the theory and practical elements of the qualifications which recognise the skills they gain in the workplace. Qualifications gained: -Level 2 Diploma in Optical Retail Skills: 37 credits -Functional Skill in Mathematics at Level 1 -Functional Skill in English at Level 1 -Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) -Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS) Combined Competence and Knowledge Based Element (Five Mandatory units): -Introduction to communication in health, social care or children's and young people's settings (1 knowledge / 2 skills credits) -Help to maintain health and safety in a retail environment (2 knowledge / 2 skills credits) -Meet customers of the optical practice and provide information (1 knowledge / 2 skills credits) -Contribute to the record keeping of the optical practice (1 knowledge / 1 skill credit) -Resolve customer service problems (2 knowledge / 4 skill credits) Mandatory units: 7 knowledge / 11 skills credits = 18 credits.The minimum requirement for 10 credits of assessed knowledge is met within this framework through achievement of the mandatory and optional units required to meet the credit threshold. Of the minimum additional 19 credits from optional units required these must include the additional 3 credits of knowledge credits needed to meet the minimum 10 knowledge credits.Employment Rights & Responsibilities and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills are completed through a recognised qualification.
