Social Media for Beginners

UPDATED 20160728 15:45:30

What is Facebook and why would I want to use it? Why are hashtags helpful? How do I Skype or FaceTime with my sister in Australia? This class will show you how the most popular social media platforms can help you connect with the world either from home, your local coffee shop, library or even the guided bus; write a blog and share pictures using other social media sites such as Instagram and Pinterest. For the self-employed, we'll show you how to increase the visibility of your local business online via Google Places and Google+, as well as other social media platforms. There's no need to worry, this course is for beginners. Please feel free to bring your own laptop, tablet or Smartphone.
