If you wish to improve on a previous grade of D or below, or if you are re-entering education but did not take a Maths GCSE, this course may suit you. To make the best use of this intensive course you will need a reasonable grasp of numeracy. However, you will be required to attend an initial assessment on Tuesday, 13 September (evening), so that we can check your numeracy levels prior to enrolment to make sure the course is right for you. Appointments for the initial assessment can be arranged by contacting the Community Office. GCSE Maths is an intensive course and requires a big commitment to study. You will attend evening classes for 75 hours throughout the course, but you need to allow as much time again for home study, as the course moves at a fast pace in order to cover the syllabus in one year. You will be taught in a classroom setting with a small group of adult learners. Exams are taken at the end of the course in June 2017. Exams are usually during the second week of June,
