This course is for anyone who hasn't done much creative writing before, or who would like extra guidance in all aspects of creative writing. It will look at two main areas: Creativity - how to encourage your own creativity, where to find inspiration, and how to stay 'switched on' as a writer. There will be writing exercises during each session that will be used to explore different ways of writing. The nuts and bolts of writing - all the main elements of writing that you should know about and understand as a writer. This will cover characterisation, setting, beginnings, middles and endings, editing, description, dialogue, research, atmosphere and points of view.
