Come and learn how to make clothes to fit yourself or others. Beginners welcome. Start with a simple garment and progress to more complicated pieces. You will need to supply your own materials. You will learn, or improve your skills in how to measure yourself accurately, how to read, understand and make simple alterations to a commercial pattern, how to layout, cut out and mark correctly, how to complete simple alterations and a variety of seams, darts and gathers, how to put in a sleeve, various sewing techniques e.g. seams and seam finishes, hems and zip insertionIndividual outcomes will be agreed between students and tutor at the beginning of the course and reviewed regularly.
