This short but intensive course is designed for those who want to create and produce their own greetings cards, either in time for Christmas or for another festive season, or for occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries etc. We will be working in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator CC as required. Basic techniques will be demonstrated as required for individual cards, and limited printing available. Alternatively your digital files could be taken to a commercial printer for a more professionally printed product. It will be helpful to come to the class with a fairly clear idea of the visual result you want to achieve, preferably sketched out with indications of colour etc. • basic image manipulation techniques in Photoshop • layout and image importing techniques in InDesign • illustration techniques as required in Illustrator • sending your digital files to print The course will be taught as a workshop with one-to-one tuition and guidance. • If you want to use photographs in your design please bring your images to class with you. • It may help to have a pictorial reference if you want to produce an illustration. • A sketchbook would be useful in order to develop imagery and make technical notes.
