Dance Exercise

This course is specially designed for Learners with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities. Zumba exercise involves lively music with fast and slow rhythms. The course includes dance moves and exercise routines performed to music. The course is a leisure course to help you to develop your drama skills and have fun while you do it. You might choose to do this course as an extra course if you are also working on your English or Maths skills, or you might choose to do just this course on its own. You will have an individual assessment and an individual learning plan will be agreed. This plan will have targets which you will work on in your lessons. You will discuss the plan regularly with teachers and support workers to check you are making progress.<font color="red"> This course is part of a local authority project to help learners with support needs to get involved in learning. Each session will include a warm-up section to get you ready to dance and move, also a cool down section at the end of the class. Main class content: Latin dance-inspired fitness programme designed for LLDD learners to help firm, tone and strengthen the body through rhythmic moves to music. Individual dance/exercise moves, also group dances. Mirroring/copying partner moves. Name: Dance Exercise Qualification title: Non regulated Community Learning provision, Sport, Leisure and Recreation Qualification type: Assessment You will complete a diagnostic assessment during the first six weeks of term. Your tutor will discuss your learning plan with you. You will also produce some work to show that you have improved your English and communication. Recognising Achievement At the end of your course you will receive a certificate to show what you have learnt. The college has a celebration of Achievement in July where certificates are awarded.
