This course will help you with: SPEAKING AND LISTENING • Understand and enter into discussions with other people. • Listen to others' opinions and be able to say what you think. • Use formal and informal English in different situations. READING • Read a variety of different texts such as books, interviews, newspapers, exercises to extend your vocabulary. • Understand the main points of a piece of writing. • Find information in a text. WRITING • Organise your writing and plan what you want to write in accordance with the CAE exam criteria. • Use grammar more accurately. • Check your work for spelling etc. You will be given the opportunity to use websites to help with your English and to use the college intranet system to access work set by your tutor. We recommend you spend a minimum of two terms at the same level in order to pass the exam successfully (i.e. 100 - Guided Learning Hours)

You will need to achieve 60% in all papers to be able to take the exam in the same term. During the course, there will be in-class tests and mock exams to help you pass the exam successfully. Your teacher will assess your individual progress in speaking and listening, reading and writing throughout the course and give you advice on how to improve and when to take the exam with Cambridge.
