The AAT Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping is a short course that is suitable for anyone new to bookkeeping who wants to acquire skills to record the day-to-day financial transactions for a small business using a manual bookkeeping system, and to understand how spreadsheet software could be used in addition to record and present numerical data. It could also provide a progression route to further accounting studies. Course Content You will learn about the business documents used for financial transactions, and be able to record these financial transactions in a manual set of books suitable for small businesses. You will also prepare bank reconciliations and a trial balance. In addition, you will also be introduced to the use of spreadsheet software to record numerical information, and will use basic spreadsheet functions and formulas including sum, total, subtract, divide, multiply, percentages, and will be able to display spreadsheet information in the form of a relevant chart or graph.
