This two year, part-time course, validated by Staffordshire University has been considered by employers from the Criminal Justice Sector to meet industry needs. The curriculum has been informed by local, regional and national employers and sector representatives including Skills for Justice. This new and exciting award takes a holistic approach to key issues within the sector, such as the impact of crime on individuals and communities, working safely and managing risk, explanations for offending behaviour, reducing reoffending and the leadership and management in offender management. It is designed to give practising and aspiring leaders and managers from all disciplines across the sector, the foundation for their formal development in their management role. The award provides an opportunity to study locally for a Foundation Degree, designed to develop the knowledge and skills essential for working in contemporary Offender Management. It incorporates the knowledge, understanding and skills required for career progression, development within current employment or further higher education study.
