IT BTEC Level 2 Diploma

This full-time course is aimed at school-leavers and adults who are considering working in Information Technology. The syllabus offers experience in different areas of IT and prepares candidates for a wide range of careers in IT in the public and private sector, BTEC Level 3 Diploma for IT Users or BTEC Extended Diploma in IT. Course Content The course comprises a series of Units building knowledge in IT. Candidates are asked to complete 3 major projects covering the Units below and based on the activities and demands of a realistic workplace environment. The projects will be under the following titles: 1. Multimedia Project 2. Technical Project 3. Information System Project All Units taken will form part of the 3 projects above. All students take this mandatory unit: Improving Productivity Using IT. You will also take the following units: 1. IT User Fundamentals Unit 2. Database Software 3. Set Up an IT System 4. Design Software 5. IT Communication Fundamentals 6. Imaging Software 7. Using Email 8. Presentation Software 9. Personal Information Management 10 Website Software 11 Word Processing Software 12. Using Collaborative Technologies The course also includes the following mandatory components: a) Functional Skills b) Personal Development Skills ENGLISH AND MATHS We are committed to helping students improve their skills in English and Maths. Students on a full-time course at College who missed out on GCSE qualifications at Grades A-C in these subjects at school will attend additional classes and receive support to enhance their grades. Depending on individual ability, students will work towards GCSE, City & Guilds or Functional Skills Awards to ensure that they have the qualifications needed to progress to University or employment.
