Access to Higher Education Diploma

UPDATED 20160721 10:09:17

We offer a range of pathways that can provide progression onto degree programmes relating to Health Professions (e.g. Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy and Paramedics) Science, Humanities and Social Sciences. Each pathway consists of modules relating to popular progression paths taken after the course. Examples include Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology for those studying pathways related to Health Professions or Science, with Sociology, Social Policy and History relating to Humanities and Social Sciences. We make it our priority to support Access Learners in developing the study skills they need in Further and Higher Education and so Study Skills form an important integral component throughout the course. We continually review the provision of modules and units to ensure that we offer learners up to date and relevant opportunities. Tutorial support is also valued and emphasised through a weekly group tutorial and regular individual guidance sessions as appropriate. A tutor is allocated to all Access students. The tutor provides personal support and educational guidance as well as group and individual tutorials as appropriate. The Careers Officers are available when required.
