Sewing and Dressmaking Workshop

Have you always wanted to create a beautiful garment, bag or cushion, but not had the confidence to make it. Why not join us and achieve your dream? You may have existing experience or be new to the art. This workshop can encompass all levels of skill. If you are looking for inspiration and some new ideas or to build on experience you already have, and have some fun doing it, this could be the course for you.

Name: Sewing and Dressmaking Workshop Qualification title: Non regulated Community Learning provision, Crafts, Creative Arts and Design Qualification type: Assessment Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor. Entry requirements

Your tutor will advise you at the first session about the selection of appropriate projects, based on your previous experience. You will need to provide all the materials and patterns needed for your project. If studying in Trowbridge there are sewing machines available, although you may wish to bring your own. If studying in Salisbury and Warminster, there are no sewing machines available, so all learners must bring their own machine to each session. New students should bring: A notepad and pen A basic sewing kit such as pins, needles, some thread, scissors and tape measure if they have them already. If students already have a project in mind the tutor will discuss this with you and look at any fabric, patterns etc. with you.
