This course is designed for those who have an interest in exploring traditional and contemporary approaches and techniques within Documentary photography, including Street reportage, Social documentary and Photojournalism. Gain compositional skills and develop a critical eye to shoot images that communicate a story effectively. Challenges will be set to improve students' street documentary photographic skills and techniques, and move their photographic 'seeing' to the next level. Develop ideas for shooting images to document your own life and surroundings. For students who not only wish to enhance their technical photographic knowledge but have an interest in documenting aspects of the world they live in. You will be introduced to the practical skills necessary and specific photographic techniques of documentary photography: capturing details, and creating a narrative or dramatic sequences for your own Photographic Journal. Start to develop your personal photographic project. If you are not entitled to a reduced fee but are finding it difficult to pay for your course in one go, we can offer a Staged Payment Agreement to split the costs into three payments if your course(s) costs £200 or more. Please talk to a member of enrolment staff about how your payments would be structured. You are liable for all payments under this agreement, even if you stop attending your class.
