Fashion History: The Evolution of Style 1715 - 1900

Take a journey through fashion history and come face to face with the fashions of the Georgian, Revolutionary and Victorian Ages. Find out what the Georges, Marie Antoinette, Napoleon and Queen Victoria wore and the whys, how's and whatfors behind the clothing and accessories of the time. In this course you will learn about how fashion has changed through time and what influences have shaped this process. Through lectures and demonstrations the evolution of cut, construction and silhouette will become apparent. During the class you will study portraits, photographs, films and garments to gain deeper understanding of the subject matter. The class is composed of 4 sessions: Three consecutive Wednesday evenings followed by a special Saturday class. There is a special event on the Saturday which may include travel to a different location and incur extra charges.
