Pattern Cutting: Beginners

UPDATED 20160720 09:44:58

For beginners or for those returning to the subject, this structured course will provide you with a thorough introduction to the core skills of pattern cutting, enabling you to use basic blocks to create simple patterns. This course is also useful if you study textiles and want to create your own garments from your own fabrics. Using a standard size block, a different garment type is taught each term: autumn - skirts; spring - bodice with sleeve; summer - trousers. Attending all three terms of the course will build your knowledge and skills as you work on different garment types. Progression to Intermediate level is possible but you must have achieved competence at using basic blocks, making basic style manipulations and drafting simple patterns.
