This course offers a stimulating and structured introduction to contemporary art. Each week you will explore a range of artists, practices, themes and approaches to art making. These include painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, film, photography and performance. You will be taught in an accessible and engaging way and will learn through classroom based lectures, group tasks, facilitated group discussion and independent study. In addition to the classroom based sessions, there will also be offsite visits to at least 2 of the many locations in which to experience contemporary art in London. These will be chosen from private collections, London art schools, commercial galleries, artist's studios, museums and exhibition spaces.
