Jazz Harmony A - Theory

Learn the musical language of jazz, including the use of keys/scales/modes, chords and harmonic progressions, rhythm and structure, based on analysis of jazz standards. Ideally taken with Jazz Ear-Training A. Open to all jazz instrumentalists. Course includes detailed analysis of jazz standards, with guided listening sessions, and approaches to improvising using the elements of jazz studied.
