From stamping feet to clapping hands, you will continue to explore the moods and styles of fiery Flamenco dance. Through the study of a selection of core flamenco rhythms, you will begin to develop vocabulary, style and castanet techniques, which you will use in dance sequences and improvisations. You will also continue to develop your stamina, strength and co-ordination through the study of flamenco arms, footwork and turns. You will have the opportunity to perform with Morley Flamenco Dancers and to enrol on the flamenco performance course, "Morley Flamenco Dance Ensemble". The class is accompanied by a guitarist. All students will have access to the Morley Moodle Flamenco & Spanish Dance Site with information about the rhythms and dances studied and video links for practise purposes. Students are advised that for all intermediate and advanced level courses they must seek departmental advice prior to enrolment or attend the first session for free so as to assess appropriate level.
