The BTEC Level 3 National - Sport Extended Certificate is a two year course equivalent to one A level qualification. The course will prepare you to enter employment or, if combined with other qualifications, to progress to higher education. Students who elect to study this course will need to be self-motivated, hardworking and have the ability to meet deadlines. Studying the BTEC L3 National - Sport Extended Certificate at FCHS will provide a broad basis of study on the Sport Sectors. You will study three mandatory units and an optional unit. Mandatory units cover Anatomy & Physiology, Fitness Training and programming for Health, Sport and Well Being, and Professional Development in the Sports Industry. The optional unit can consist of Sports Leadership, Application of Fitness Testing, Sports Psychology and Practical Sports Performance. This course is assessed through a written exam and coursework.
