The Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELTA) is an internationally recognised introductory course for students who have little or no previous experience of English language teaching. It may also be suitable for students with some previous experience, but no training. The course leads to an internationally recognised English language teaching qualification, which might be of interest to candidates pursing a change of career or exploring new career routes. The course is an intensive programme of study for which you will need to be able to commit fully. It includes modules on learners and teachers and the teaching and learning context language analysis and awareness language skills reading, listening, speaking and writing planning and resources for different teaching contexts developing teaching skills and professionalism. As the main part of the course is teaching practice, this is a very practical course which equips you with the skillset necessary to begin your career as an English language teacher. As an example, upon completing the course, our previous trainees went on to secure employment as English language teachers in the UK or abroad.
