The HNC/D in Sport (Coaching & Sports Development) has a strong emphasis on the vocational aspects of sports development and coaching, which will give students a foundation in the applied skills that are relevant in a broad range of careers in the field of sport, physical activity and health. The course will develop the higher level skills, knowledge and understanding required to be successful in this field through the completion of work based assignments. It is important therefore that before the student commences the course they must have a confirmed placement, be it paid or voluntary, within an area of interest. Students will also have the opportunity to develop and apply their skills supporting the Calderdale College Sports Development Centre in Football and Rugby.
