Business Administration - NVQ Level 1

Whilst studying towards this qualification the following modules will be covered: * Work in a business environment * Communicate in a business environment Plus 4 optional units. Assessment is ongoing and students will complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate that they are competent in all areas required at this level. In addition to NVQ Level 1, students will study word and text processing to develop their computer skills. This part of the course will be assessed by two short external examinations. All NVQ Administration students will complete a one day-a-week work experience placement in the Business Admin Centre at Hugh Baird College, to put their new skills to the test. Tutors/assessors will visit each student to assess their progress. There are normally two educational visits arranged each year to broaden student awareness of the different types of companies.
