SEWING AND DRESSMAKING

To provide learners with an opportunity to acquire or develop their skills to use a sewing machine alter patterns laying and cutting out also make and alter their own clothes. Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of which garment to make according to their skill level of ability. The use of over locker and a straight stitch machines. How to use basic cutting and sewing progress whilst constructing a garment and how to choose equipment and suitable fabrics. The learners will agree with the tutor at the start of the course projects of their own choice and this will be identified on an Individual Learning Plan. The ILP will be used throughout the course to assess how the learner is progressing.
