What will I study? This course is designed to develop creativity, practical skills and independent thought within Art, Design or Media. It is an intensive study programme for those over 19 who want to widen their skills and develop a portfolio in preparation for work or higher education. Students will develop an extensive portfolio of work in a wide range of Arts or Media. The course is divided into three stages- Exploratory, Pathway and Confirmatory stages and culminates in a personal project. Throughout your study programme, there is also a focus on preparing you for a career in the industry. Your assignments may have a work focus and will involve assessments- some may be set by industry. You may be encouraged to market and sell artefacts that you have manufactured on the course. This is how many independent artists start their career. You will also gain valuable work experience or work as an independent practitioner on client briefs.
