What will I study? This course is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to progress to Degree level study in art and design or into employment in the creative industries. You will explore, develop and test your creativity on a course which is stimulating and demanding and provides a supportive transition to university or commercial practice. In year one you will work towards the UAL Level 3 Diploma. Successful completion of the year may enable you to progress to year two and complete the Level 3 Extended Diploma. You will learn a range of disciplines such as model-making, illustration, creative advertising and graphic design. Drawing and creativity are central to your study in the visual arts, which will be underpinned by an understanding of cultural and historical influences. You will also be introduced to relevant software to support you in your future career. Throughout your course you will prepare for a career in the industry, through work-based assignments and assessments- some of which may be set by industry. You may be encouraged to market and sell artifacts that you have manufactured on the course. You will also gain valuable work experience or work as an independent practitioner on client briefs.
