New specification for September What will I study? Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. On this two year programme, you will explore various aspects of the contemporary society, culture and heritage where Spanish is spoken. A-Level Spanish will help you to develop confident, effective communication skills in Spanish and a thorough understanding of the culture of countries and communities where Spanish is spoken. It develops an interest in and enthusiasm for, language learning and encourages you to consider the study of the language in a broader context. The four-unit specification requires students to develop their ability to write and speak in Spanish with accurate grammar and syntax for a range of purposes and to understand written or spoken Spanish in a variety of contexts and genres. You will study the following modules: - Spanish writing, speaking, reading and listening - Spanish and Latin American society - Young people in Spain - Spanish current affairs The modules above will be studied over two years and at the end of the first year, you will take the AS examination.
