While the Level 3 Certificate in Cover Supervision includes units in common with the Level 3 Certificate and Diploma, it also includes a specialist unit on providing classroom cover. This reflects the differences between the cover supervisor and teaching assistant roles. Candidates must be school support staff, working under the direction of a teacher, with individual pupils and groups in the primary or secondary education sector. You must be working in a classroom for at least 8 hours per week in a paid capacity, as we will need to observe you in the workplace. This course will explore your role and responsibilities, as well as extend your depth of knowledge of local and national policies and procedures, increasing your employability skills. Applicants should hold level 2 in English and Maths, as well as have access to basic IT packages, such as Word and PowerPoint. You will be invited to a pre-course interview to ascertain suitability for the programme. Instalments and/or access to Learning Loans are available to pay for this course. If you have already completed the Level 3 Certificate and/or Diploma, you may be exempt from some units. This can be discussed at your interview.
