Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Standard Course

The course is for anyone aged 16 and upwards and you don't need any qualifications or experience in mental health to take part. The course is delivered over four sessions, all learners will need to attend all sessions to receive MHFA accreditation. The course covers what mental health is and how to reduce the stigma of mental health. You will learn about suicide, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self harm and psychosis. Each session you will learn techniques to spot the early signs of a mental health issue, gain confidence helping someone experiencing a mental health issue, provide help on a first aid basis and prevent someone from hurting themselves or others. You will learn how to help stop a mental health issue from getting worse and how to help someone recover faster and guide them towards the right support.
