What will I learn on this course? The Year 12 AS programme develops two components of work which integrate practical, critical and theoretical studies, using a variety of media and processes. The Year 13 A Level programme further extends practical work and your skill in independent study, working from given themes and starting points. Components of work address the four assessment objectives and will include the following: painting, sculpture, drawing and recording using a variety of media, printmaking and ceramics.
Name: Art & Design - Fine Art (GCEA) 7202 Qualification title: GCE A Level in Art and Design Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment At AS you will complete two components. Component 1 – Assessed material will initially be related to specific briefs set by the Art Department with further independ-ent study from personal starting points. (40% of the AS). Component 2 - This will include preparation time responding to the externally set assignment given by the examination board, AQA. This will culminate in 10 hours of supervised time. (60% of AS). At A-Level you will complete two components of coursework. Component 1 is a personal investigation; this will include a written element of between 1000- 3000 words. (60% of A Level). Component 2 is an externally set assignment given by the examination board, AQA. Including preparation time and fifteen hours of supervised time (40% of A-Level).
